Gaming laptop GPU checklist

A gaming laptop deal is only trustworthy when the GPU details are clear.

  • Check exact GPU model and VRAM, not just “RTX 50 series”.
  • Look for TGP/TPP or wattage; lower-watt GPUs can be much slower with the same name.
  • Match the GPU to the screen: 1080p, QHD/WQXGA, 144Hz, 240Hz and brightness all matter.
  • 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD are desirable on expensive gaming laptops.
  • Flag student-only prices, bundle assumptions and title/spec contradictions.
